WHATYOU WILL DO
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bid Manager to be responsible for leading the end-to-end bid process, ensuring the development of high-quality, compelling proposals that align with business objectives and client requirements. The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders across sales, marketing, product, finance, legal, and project management teams to develop winning strategies and ensure seamless execution. Responsibilities include managing risk, tracking performance against KPIs, driving continuous improvement through post-bid analysis, maintaining strict deadlines, coordinating client presentations, and ensuring compliance with internal governance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage the end-to-end bid process
- Manage virtual bid teams and input from key stakeholders, engaging sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal, and project management/delivery
- Work with the sales lead to develop a clear win strategy and ensure win themes are clear and compelling
- Help manage and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues
- Prepare and review the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all products/services are included in the final price to the customer
- Track and manage risk throughout the bid process
- Contribute to the written proposal, both in terms of content and presentation (e.g., guidance around the executive summary)
- Manage the bid budget and monitor and report on overall performance against KPIs
- Ensure timescales are achieved at each step of the bid process, including all internal governance, while taking the initiative in setting realistic deadlines
- Ensure on-time submission of compliant and commercially sound bids
- Coordinate and plan all client presentations required as part of the bid submission
- Drive continuous improvement through post-bid reviews, both internally and with customers
- Administration experience, particularly document production
- Excellent written communication skills – grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary and presentation of text
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to edit and review documents under pressure
- A disciplined, well‑organized and structured approach to managing bids and tenders as projects
- Ability to meet absolute deadlines and effectively manage a large, varied workload
- 3–4 years of experience managing bids end‑to‑end – preferred
- A strong team player ethic
- Experience with best‑practice bid management tools/methodologies – preferred
- Bachelor’s and/or certifications in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Management, Project Management or Finance – preferred
