We are excited to announce an opening for a talented and energetic Senior Commercial Attorney to join our Commercial team. Reporting directly to the Head of the team, you will bring your expertise in customer and vendor relationships within the SaaS technology industry to support our sales teams. Your key responsibilities will include drafting, negotiating, and advising on contracts, procurement arrangements, and supporting the procurement process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business teams to structure transactions and draft and negotiate agreements with customers, vendors, and partners across all service and technology domains.
  • Assist our global sales teams in managing the contracting process to facilitate the closure of deals.
  • Manage vendor relationships and software renewals to optimize efficiencies while mitigating risks in procurement negotiations and approvals.
  • Provide guidance on relevant issues and risks in commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with internal corporate policies and processes.
  • Coordinate with Lucid's legal compliance team to maintain a seamless flow of information concerning vendors handling personal information.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to enhance Lucid's commercial team policies and processes, streamlining legal and business functions, and develop training materials.
  • Analyze, draft, and negotiate SaaS subscription and other commercial agreements.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from respected institutions, with active membership in a U.S. state bar.
  • 7+ years of combined legal experience in a software company or law firm, specifically in counseling rapid-growth technology firms.
  • Strong understanding of global data privacy laws and experience negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
  • Proficient in reviewing information security programs and requirements.
  • Experience in negotiating complex enterprise B2B SaaS agreements.
  • Ability to create and implement processes, policies, and systems that streamline commercial legal functions for a rapidly growing organization.
  • Sound legal and business judgment, with the capability to communicate risks clearly to business partners.
  • A service-oriented mindset, capable of prioritizing a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong negotiation abilities.
  • Effectively manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work setting.
  • Demonstrate a highly responsive and service-driven attitude.
  • Motivated to enhance Lucid's legal department and elevate its functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Zendesk, Conga, Coupa, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting SaaS sales departments as an internal client.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts with education or government customers.
