Business Process Consultant
Purpose: Provide project support to Department Directors and the Department Executive Team. Consult with process leaders and team leaders to analyze, recommend, and facilitate resolution of business and technical issues in planning, performance measurement, change management, and periodic assessment review.
Responsibilities- Lead multiple process improvement teams.
- Develop project work plans, manage projects, and conduct periodic assessments.
- Facilitate stakeholder analysis and construct communication plans for improvement teams.
- Collect, research, and analyze data to support decision‑making.
- Recommend organizational changes and assist in implementation.
- Advise leaders on key performance measures and target setting.
- Develop and refine models, methodologies, and tools for the department.
- Review and provide feedback on work produced by functional team staff.
- Communicate project and program information to all organizational levels.
- Provide leadership, assignments, and training to team members as needed.
- Understanding of business strategies, planning, and process improvement.
- Knowledge of performance measurement, city statutes, ordinances, and codes.
- Proficiency in research methodologies, cost‑benefit analysis, statistics, and financial modeling.
- Communication skills across print, electronic, presentation, and telephony formats.
- Internal consulting, project management, and negotiation capabilities.
- Stakeholder engagement and requirement capture.
- Systematic analysis and independent or team-based work.
- Implementation of recommendations and change management.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience related to the position.
- Experience in analyzing and documenting complex business workflows.
- Data analysis skills to identify operational trends and support decision‑making.
- Ability to develop communication plans and implement organizational recommendations.
- Knowledge of enterprise‑level software or SaaS applications.
- Understanding of the Texas Public Information Act and legal matter management.
Austin City Hall, 301 W. 2nd Street, Austin 78701 or other site designated by a supervisor.
Work schedule:
40‑hour week with flexible, hybrid arrangement (three days remote, two days on‑site).
$71,630.00 – $90,980.00 annually.
