Director, Commercial Counsel

T1 Energy is hiring a Director, Commercial Counsel to support G1, , and HQ with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, focusing on procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, and operational contracts. The role involves building scalable processes, refining templates, and clarifying legal review procedures across the business.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including procurement, supply, manufacturing, services, and vendor contracts.
• Support development and construction related contracting for .
• Partner closely with commercial, operations, procurement, and leadership teams to align risk with business priorities.
• Create and maintain contract templates and playbooks to increase speed and consistency.
• Establish and manage clear processes for legal intake, review, and approvals.
• Provide guidance on compliance, policy interpretation, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with outside counsel when necessary, ensuring constant discipline and clear scope.
• Support internal stakeholders on issue-spotting and preventative risk management.

• Business-oriented and pragmatic, knowing when to push and when to move.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling manufacturing environment.
• Clear, direct communicator who can explain risk without over complicating.
• Organized and capable of managing multiple matters simultaneously.

• JD degree and admission to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, in‑house experience strongly preferred.
• Experience drafting and negotiating procurement, supply, and commercial contracts.
• Experience in the solar industry, manufacturing, energy, or a related technical/industrial sector preferred.
• Strong ability to coordinate cross-functionally and manage multiple projects at once.
• Familiarity with compliance, employment-related matters, or multi-site operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
