Position Information

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Management Analyst to join our team within the PEPS Center of Excellence. The Management Analyst will assist in analyzing business functions and processes, developing policies, procedures, and job aids to help improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness, including training to implement improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Advises and consults with management on department studies by identifying priorities and defining study scope, purpose, objectives, time frames, and resource requirements.
  • Analyzes and evaluates business functions and activities; develops and monitors performance data.
  • Develops recommendations for improvement and/or corrective action to standardize or improve current processes or systems.
  • Investigates and researches new or improved business and management practices for application to agency programs or operations.
  • Monitors, evaluates and makes recommendations concerning accounting activities and contract‑related matters, and conducts trainings.
  • Oversees assessment of current organizational, procedural, or operational systems for effectiveness, efficiency, and conformance to established guidelines.
  • Oversees coordination of special projects of a non-recurring nature.
  • Prepares comprehensive technical records and reports to present, interprets data, identifies alternatives, and makes and justifies recommendations.
  • Researches and interprets historical, current and projected data to identify problems, causes and areas where procedural or system changes are indicated.
  • Researches, plans, coordinates and develops programs, projects, activities or procedures to increase productivity, efficiency and streamline operations to improve organizational systems.
  • Reviews industry developments and makes recommendations for possible agency application.
  • Serves as a project leader.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Communications or related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in business analysis, methods analysis, strategic planning, project management or related function (full‑time or prorated part‑time). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

    Certifications:

    Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

    Analysis methodologies, office management practices and procedures, portfolio, program and project planning, development and management, policy development methodologies and procedures, planning, coordinating and handling multiple projects within an area of responsibility to meet short‑ and long‑term deadlines, communicating complex ideas and information clearly, concisely, and effectively; designing programs or training; interpreting and applying laws, rules, and regulations; using computers and applicable programs, applications, and systems.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Sedentary work:
    Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools.
  • Light work:
    Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.
  • Standing – prolonged periods of time.
  • Repetitive motion – substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
