Position: Catering / Community Manager

Position Summary

Sifted is seeking a Community Manager to live and breathe the Sifted brand, be a champion for our clients, and act as the primary liaison between the culinary team and the Sifted community.

This role is operationally oriented, takes a white‑glove approach to account management, and is a natural leader who is known to inspire others into action. You will be responsible for energizing an efficient, personalized lunch service in a high‑volume environment and serving several charter schools in the Austin market.

Reporting directly to the City Manager, you will lead lunch service Monday‑Friday, manage the host team, and serve as the primary contact for all clients.

Schedule
  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Responsibilities
  • Execute daily pack‑out; oversee lunch and dinner delivery, set up and onsite experience across client community; maintain presence at kitchen daily.
  • Partner with head chef regarding food production; act as primary liaison between culinary team and clients.
  • Improve logistics for the operational team, in line with company priorities and team buy‑in.
  • Account management and client marketing.
  • Own the client relationship: act as main point of contact, communicate directly with clients to resolve issues professionally and quickly.
  • Onboard new clients and serve as their initial host.
  • Own every aspect of service experience; take service and maintain onsite presence minimum of twice a week.
  • Embody and elevate the Sifted brand with clients, in the community, and internally with your team.
  • Plug into the local startup scene and create buzz for our lunch programs.
  • Hire host team; oversee host schedule.
  • Train and monitor performance of host team.
  • Schedule and conduct one‑on‑ones with each host on a regular basis.
  • Build and foster a strong relationship with host team; reinforce positive host culture.
  • Lead host team by example (client communication, host communication, onsite conduct, brand‑aligned set‑ups).
Qualifications
  • Has 1+ years experience in the service industry.
  • Has 1+ years experience in a professional setting.
  • Is operationally minded: exhibits strong follow‑through on tasks and progress; flexes between granular attention to detail and big‑picture thinking; balances decisiveness and patience in time‑sensitive situations.
  • Is a natural leader: has filled a coaching, managing or leadership role; feels confident delegating when necessary; models a readiness to help, serve and support; is highly responsive and accessible.
  • Is analytical: can rapidly convert quantitative feedback into qualitative action; has basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel; can leverage data and technology to automate certain job functions.
  • Is brand‑aware: can accurately represent and speak to a company’s brand.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
  • Must be able to work and interact with children of all ages.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation starts between $55,000 – 65,000 USD per year + yearly bonus tied to goal achievement.

Physical Requirements
  • Position requires standing for up to 6 hours at a time and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
