  • Maintain and expand executive relationships across MPOs, cities, state DOTs, and federal partners.
  • Serve as a senior executive advisor to Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), cities, and state Departments of Transportation, providing guidance on governance, organizational effectiveness, funding strategies, policy implementation, and performance management.
  • Deliver billable advisory services in roles such as senior advisor, peer reviewer, or strategic subject‑matter leader on complex or high‑visibility engagements.
  • Provide quality oversight and strategic direction on assignments requiring senior public‑sector judgment and credibility.
  • Leverage national networks and industry leadership roles to identify emerging opportunities and inform market strategy.

  • Mentor senior staff and support capture teams, contributing to workforce development and institutional knowledge transfer.
  • Reinforce AtkinsRéalis’ culture of executive-level service, quality, and integrity across client engagements.
  • This role is structured as a part‑time executive advisory position, with an expected workload of approximately 30 hours per week, allowing flexibility based on client, pursuit, and delivery needs.
  • The position does not include direct line management responsibilities but carries significant influence through mentorship, advisory leadership, and strategic engagement.
About you
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience in transportation planning, public‑sector infrastructure, or related advisory environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or advising MPOs, cities, state DOTs, or federal transportation agencies.
  • Recognized credibility and leadership within national transportation organizations (e.g., AMPO, AASHTO, TRB or similar bodies).
  • Strong strategic, business development, and advisory acumen with the ability to operate at the executive level.
  • Excellent judgment, communication skills, and the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • High emotional intelligence and comfort operating in a matrixed, multi‑market organization.
