Job Description & How to Apply Below

Rival Tennis Ladder is looking for a passionate, community-oriented individual to serve as a City Ambassador. This role is the "boots-on-the-ground" heart of our organization, responsible for fostering a vibrant local tennis culture and driving league growth through direct engagement and event coordination.

As a City Ambassador, you aren't just a representative; you are a catalyst for the local tennis scene. You will bridge the gap between our digital platform and the physical courts, ensuring that players in your city feel connected, informed, and excited to play.

Core Responsibilities
  • Grassroots Marketing: Maintain and distribute physical marketing materials (fliers, posters, and cards) at local public parks, private clubs, and community hubs.
  • Event Coordination: Plan, host, and oversee local "Season Kick-off" events, social mixers, and end-of-season tournament days.
  • Community Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for local players, helping them navigate the ladder system and answering questions about league play.
  • Strategic Growth: Actively recruit new players to the system through personal outreach and court-side networking.
  • Local Relations: Serve as an official point of contact for local government (Parks and Recreation) and tennis associations to secure court time or partnership opportunities.
  • Administration: Accurately track and log your hours and referral metrics using our internal system.
Ideal Candidate
  • Active Player: You are already on the courts frequently and have a deep love for the game.
  • Social Connector: You naturally bring people together and likely already know the "regulars" at your local courts, particularly within the core 3.0-4.5 NTRP demographic.
  • Organized & Proactive: You can manage a schedule of event days, stay on top of restocking fliers, and reliably log your administrative hours without constant oversight.
  • Great Communicator: You are comfortable approaching strangers to pitch Rival Tennis Ladder and can handle local administrative conversations with professionalism.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Hourly Pay: ~$17 per hour for dedicated, pre-approved time spent on event coordination, administrative tasks, and official meetings. Hours will vary by project and season, but typically will not exceed 20 hours per week.
  • Event Budgets: Variable budgets and expense reimbursements are provided based on the specific time, structure, and scale of the event you are coordinating.
  • Direct Referral Commission: A $10 flat cash commission for every new individual player who signs up using your specific reference.
  • City Revenue Share: You will receive a 30% revenue share of sign-ups in your city for 3 years (further details on territory revenue structures will be discussed during the interview).
  • League Perks: Free entry into Rival Tennis Ladder seasons and early access to new features or branded apparel.
  • Flexible

    Schedule:

You manage your own hours based on the needs of the city and your personal availability.
