As a Senior Consultant on our State and Local Government team you will help public sector clients solve complex challenges from strategy through execution. You will support client delivery teams by serving as a day-to-day lead on projects, serving as a BA on technology focused projects, facilitating client meetings and working sessions, and developing clear, client-ready work products.
Key activities include:- Serve as a critical team member for consulting projects from project initiation through analysis, solution development, implementation, and closeout
- Plan and facilitate client interviews, workshops, and requirements gathering sessions to understand current state processes, challenges, opportunities, and goals
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative information to identify themes, root causes, and actionable recommendations
- Translate client needs into well-organized documentation such as process maps, requirements summaries, and decision logs that support solution design and delivery
- Support technology implementation efforts by helping clients define business requirements, review configuration options, coordinate user feedback during build activities, and support change management activities
- Develop training materials, job aids, and communications to support end user adoption and change management
- Develop presentations and written deliverables with clear storylines and actionable insights for client leaders
- Support business development efforts, including research, proposal development, and reusable asset creation
- Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team culture
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years of professional experience in management consulting, public sector consulting, program management, project management, government operations, or a related field
- Experience supporting complex client engagements and managing multiple work streams simultaneously
- Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, stakeholder engagement sessions, and executive briefings
- Experience developing high-quality client deliverables, including presentations, reports, business cases, and strategic recommendations
- Experience developing and executing communication and engagement plans for a wide array of stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities and deadlines
- Must currently reside within the Houston or Austin metropolitan area and be available for periodic in-person client and team meetings
- Experience working with or supporting Texas state government agencies and programs
- Experience in strategic planning, program management, business process improvement, organizational design, change management, or operational transformation initiatives
- Experience developing project management artifacts, governance structures, performance metrics, and executive reporting packages
- Experience supporting large-scale implementations, modernization initiatives, or enterprise transformation efforts
- Experience developing change readiness surveys and business readiness assessments to identify barriers to resistance and developing plans to address barriers
- 3+ years of specific Change Management experience
- Professional certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, PROSCI, Scrum Master, or related credentials
