Amazon is hiring a Business Analyst, Worldwide Grocery Sustainability to support the measurement, analysis and delivery of sustainability initiatives across its grocery business.

The role sits at the intersection of sustainability, business analysis and data
, with responsibility for maintaining environmental data infrastructure, measuring sustainability metrics, supporting reporting and translating complex datasets into insights that influence business and operational decisions.

The position will work across areas including climate, biodiversity, waste, packaging, supply chain standards and social responsibility.

You will maintain and improve the integrity and rigor of sustainability data used for reporting, regulatory requirements and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing sustainability metrics, methodologies and environmental footprints.
• Supporting monthly and annual carbon footprint reporting.
• Managing operational and food waste reporting.
• Supporting packaging footprint reporting.
• Calculating and substantiating annual sustainability impact metrics.
• Maintaining data quality checks and identifying opportunities for automation.
• Supporting third-party assurance processes by documenting methodologies, responding to auditor questions and providing data samples.

You will turn sustainability data into actionable business insights that can influence investment and operational decisions.

• Modelling financial and plastic-reduction impacts of sustainable packaging options.
• Assessing food-waste deployment requirements based on waste volumes, space constraints and service costs.
• Forecasting carbon, waste and packaging pathways through 2030.
• Analysing food donation volumes and diversion rates.
• Conducting feasibility analyses and business cases for sustainability programmes.
• Performing ad-hoc analytical deep dives.

The role will collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineering teams, sustainability specialists, programme contacts and stakeholders across Amazon's Worldwide Grocery and Worldwide Sustainability organisations.

You will also help share relevant sustainability data and insights with central Amazon teams and other business units.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to generate business insights.
• Experience with Excel, including macros, INDEX functions, conditional lists, arrays, pivot tables and lookups.
• Experience with SQL or ETL.
• Experience coordinating between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work proactively and independently while meeting deadlines.
• Strong interest in sustainability.
• Experience measuring and tracking KPIs.
• Experience identifying opportunities for process automation.
