Play​/Caregiver

Wanna Play is a play based Child Care Center offering drop-in care, preschool, camps and after school care. We believe play is an important part of a child's early development. We have created a fun, safe place for children 6 wks to 12 yrs to play, meet friends and explore. If you are a service oriented person who loves working with children, this might be the perfect job for you.

We call our caregivers/teachers Play Guides because their job is to guide children while playing. Our Play Guides lead crafts, games, read stories, and make sure that all children in our care are comfortable.

Responsibilities also include ensuring state licensing standards are maintained at all times while supervising children, assist with hygiene, meals and facility cleaning.

All staff must meet licensing background check requirements, have current CPR/First Aid, and some will be asked to obtain a food handler's certification.

Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered:

* Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate

* Child care center, preschool, camp or after-school program experience a plus!

* Great positive communication skills

* Commitment to providing quality service in all aspects of the job

* Good physical condition, active lifestyle & the ability to lift 40 lbs

* Has OWN reliable transportation

* Neat, professional appearance

* Must complete a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education courses per year (free courses)

We are open days, evenings and weekends and offer flexible day, evening and weekend schedules. All staff must have flexibility to work an evening and/or weekend shift.

We offer free child care benefits to our employees for one child 18 mos and up.
