STV is seeking an Inspector to join our Construction Management Group, to work onsite with one of our aviation clients in Austin, TX
.
The Inspector is responsible for overseeing the inspection and quality control of airport buildings and infrastructure, including terminals, aviation buildings, and support facilities
. The inspector ensures that all structural, architectural, and finishing works comply with project specifications, building codes, safety regulations, and aviation industry standards.
- Conduct inspections of structural, architectural, and finishing works to ensure compliance with approved designs and material specifications.
- Verify construction activities against FAA, ICAO, IBC, NFPA, and local building codes applicable to airport facilities.
- Monitor concrete works, steel structures, roofing, glazing, flooring, ceilings, partitions, and fireproofing.
- Identify construction defects, safety hazards, and non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Witness testing and commissioning of various building systems, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and electrical installations.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, architects, and airport authorities to ensure project quality.
- Maintain daily inspection logs, progress reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on construction quality and safety compliance.
- Assist in troubleshooting construction challenges and ensuring timely resolution.
- Ensure adherence to aviation safety standards, including fire resistance, wind loads, seismic requirements, and accessibility codes.
- Conduct safety inspections related to airport infrastructure and report potential risks.
- Support the implementation of risk mitigation strategies for high-priority buildings.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in building inspection, construction supervision, or quality control, preferably in aviation projects.
- Certifications:
- Construction Quality Control (CQC), LEED, or OSHA certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with airport construction standards and regulations.
- Technical
Skills:- Strong knowledge of structural, architectural, and finishing works in airport environments.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and inspection reporting tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with strict timelines.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship Compensation Range
$64,994.00 - $73,856.00
