Key Responsibilities:- Review and interpret construction plans and specifications to determine project needs.
- Obtain and assess material and equipment pricing from vendors and suppliers.
- Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and comprehensive proposals for clients.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs using company procedures and ensure their accuracy.
- Collaborate with vendors on product specifications and pricing.
- Engage with clients to clarify project scope, answer questions, and ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain organized records of project communications and decisions.
- Complete bid checklists, project summaries, and preliminary schedules.
- Support management in presenting final bids to clients.
- Build strong relationships with clients through site visits and regular meetings.
- Attend client and industry events as needed, even outside regular business hours.
- Manage project documentation using estimating software.
- Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed.
- 3-5 years of Estimator experience in construction, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- In‑depth knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and estimating procedures.
- Competence in business math calculations and project time/materials estimation.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and terminology.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred: Experience in drywall, flooring, or specialty construction.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Takeoff software.
- Preferred: College degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields.
- Preferred: Field experience as a subcontractor.
- Preferred: Experience with Sage 100 software.
