Job Description

Doucet, A Kleinfelder Company, is currently looking for a Construction Inspector to oversee and ensure the quality and compliance of civil construction projects. As a construction inspector, you will act as the primary liaison between the client, contractor, and engineering team for a full range of projects large and small, private and public. Our core capabilities include Land Development, Public Works and Water Resources, Transportation, Geospatial, Environmental, and Construction Management Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct rigorous inspections to verify that contractors’ work adheres to plans, specifications, contract documents, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with other field representatives, project managers, and contractors to ensure project compliance.
  • Thoroughly and accurately interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules, identifying and addressing conflicts.
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Prepare daily reports documenting inspections and other relevant project information.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to interpret construction schedules.
  • Experience with civil infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, and wastewater management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil construction inspection.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred with course work in Construction Technology and Mathematics.
