Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial and industrial projects, with a focus on electrical and general construction work. The Superintendent will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards by coordinating trades, managing daily site activities, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily on-site operations, including scheduling, sequencing, and supervising subcontractors and craft labor to meet project milestones.
- Coordinate electrical installations and integration with other building systems, reviewing plans and ensuring work aligns with specifications and codes.
- Enforce safety policies and OSHA-compliant procedures, conduct site safety meetings, and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Manage project timelines, track progress, and communicate schedule updates to project management and owners.
- Perform quality control inspections, document deficiencies, and oversee corrective actions to meet contract standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and foremen to resolve technical issues, RFIs, and change orders in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, site logs, manpower records, and as-built documentation.
- Facilitate material deliveries and equipment logistics to minimize downtime and support efficient workflow.
- Mentor and develop on-site personnel, promoting best practices in construction methods and teamwork.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings, review submittals, and ensure subcontractor compliance with contract requirements.
- 5+ years of proven experience as an Electrical Superintendent on commercial or industrial projects, with demonstrable electrical coordination experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation practices, and read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Proven knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, and safety regulations (OSHA).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to manage multiple trades and stakeholders.
- Proficient with construction management software and tools for scheduling, documentation, and reporting (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar).
- Valid drivers license; willingness to travel between job sites as required.
- Relevant certifications preferred: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, NCCER, or trade-specific credentials.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate degree or technical training in construction management, electrical technology, or related field preferred.
