RK&K is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector IV | Senior Inspector to support our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) field operations for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and municipal transportation projects. This role is critical in leading field inspections, conducting materials testing, and maintaining documentation to ensure quality and facilitate successful project delivery.

Essential Functions
  • Promote an ethical work environment.
  • Foster effective communication with personnel, clients, contractors, and the public.
  • Support all aspects of contract administration from preconstruction to project close-out.
  • Attend meetings related to contract management.
  • Oversee quality assurance inspections and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct advanced construction inspections.
  • Prepare daily reports on contractor progress and resolve on-site issues.
  • Verify compliance with contract documents and regulations.
  • Assess inspection needs and supervise daily personnel activities.
  • Conduct constructability reviews for roadways and bridges.
  • Report daily to project sites or RK&K office as required.
  • Provide accurate documentation to support monthly and final pay estimates.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure construction inspection.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TxDOT Precertification in Categories 11.4.1, 12.1.4, 12.1.5, and 12.1.7.
  • Certifications in OSHA, ACI, HMA Level 1B and other applicable TxDOT training.
  • Strong knowledge of the full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Extensive experience with roadways, bridges, structures, traffic control, and environmental compliance.
  • Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction.
  • Familiarity with TxDOT's Quality Assurance Program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AASHTOWare, Site Manager, and Project Wise.
  • Acceptable driving record and ability to pass a Criminal History Background Check (CHBC).
