David Wilkes Builders is an award-winning, premier luxury custom home and remodeling contractor serving downtown Austin, Central Austin, and Westlake. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to oversee residential construction projects from planning through completion. This full-time, salaried, exempt position is responsible for managing multiple projects while ensuring the highest standards of quality, client satisfaction, scheduling, and budget performance.
The Project Manager will typically oversee 1–3 projects simultaneously, working independently or in collaboration with another Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Manage residential construction projects from pre-construction through final completion
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, estimates, and schedules
- Maintain accurate project documentation and requirements within the company's project management software
- Communicate professionally and effectively with homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members
- Review and approve subcontractor proposals, change orders, and invoices
- Ensure all projects comply with applicable city, county, and building code requirements
- Collaborate closely with homeowners and team members to ensure project goals and expectations are met
- Coordinate and schedule field support personnel as needed
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Assistant Project Managers
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members
- Establish and maintain procedures for onboarding and managing new vendors and subcontractors
- Proactively identify and resolve project challenges to minimize delays and maintain quality standards
- Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience, preferably in high-end residential construction
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skill
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, and cost control
- Proficiency with construction management software is preferred
- Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and craftsmanship
This position requires occasional physical activity, including:
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Working on active construction sites that may not yet have HVAC systems installed.
- Navigating uneven terrain and construction environments safely
Contract-to-hire opportunity with a 90-day probationary period.
Typical schedule of approximately 45 hours per week.
Occasional extended hours may be required to meet project demands
