Construction Manager/ Foreman, Site Manager, Procurement / Purchasing
A long-standing, mid-sized Texas general contractor is hiring a Project Manager to join its growing Austin team. This is a strong opportunity for a PM who wants real project ownership, a low-ego team, and steady industrial work without getting buried in a large corporate structure.
The company’s Austin office is focused heavily on industrial construction
, including tilt-wall, spec light-industrial, warehouse/distribution, developer-driven projects, and select end-user/design-build work
. Most projects are in the $10M–$25M range
, giving Project Managers the ability to truly own their work from start to finish.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading commercial construction projects from preconstruction/buyout through closeout. You’ll work closely with owners, developers, architects, engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and internal leadership to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout
- Lead communication with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and internal project teams
- Partner closely with superintendents to drive field execution
- Manage subcontractor buyout, scope review, procurement, and cost control
- Identify project risks early and solve problems without unnecessary drama
- Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company professionally
- Ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and financial expectations
- Support preconstruction, estimating, and project planning as needed
The right person is a true builder who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and knows how to lead a project without ego. This team values people who are steady under pressure, accountable, humble, and willing to work through problems the right way.
Ideal background:
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience
- Experience as a Project Manager or strong Assistant Project Manager ready to step up
- Industrial, tilt-wall, warehouse/distribution, light-industrial, or developer-driven project experience preferred
- Ability to manage projects in the $10M–$25M range
- Strong subcontractor, owner, and field team coordination skills
- Comfortable managing cost, schedule, documentation, procurement, and closeout
- Strong communication and follow-through
- Low-ego, team-first approach
This is not a massive corporate GC where you are one small piece of a huge machine. It is a stable, established Texas builder with a younger, growth-minded Austin office and a strong industrial pipeline.
The team is selective about who they hire because culture fit matters. They want someone who can run work, build trust, solve problems calmly, and grow with the office long term.
For the right Project Manager, this is a chance to join a respected Texas GC, take ownership of meaningful industrial projects, and build a long‑term career with a company that values humility, hard work, and follow‑through.
