Position Overview

A well-established national commercial contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join its growing Austin team. This role will lead the day-to-day field operations of high-end commercial construction projects, including corporate interiors, tenant improvements, occupied renovations, and capital improvement work for technology, legal, financial, and professional-services clients.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on field leader who can manage subcontractors, maintain aggressive schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and communicate professionally with clients, architects, building management, and internal project team

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all daily field operations from mobilization through project closeout
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, short‑term plans, and sequencing strategies
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and site logistics
  • Partner closely with the Project Manager to maintain budget, schedule, quality, and client expectations
  • Conduct daily jobsite meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and safety discussions
  • Enforce company safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and site‑specific requirements
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for constructability and field coordination
  • Manage complex MEP installations, shutdowns, tie‑ins, and above‑ceiling coordination
  • Oversee high‑end finishes, millwork, flooring, ceilings, glass, and specialty installation
  • Coordinate work within occupied buildings while minimizing disruption to tenants and building operations
  • Identify field conflicts and develop practical solutions before they affect schedule or cost
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, manpower tracking, and quality‑control records
  • Manage punch‑list completion, commissioning, inspections, owner training, and final turnover
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and client‑ready jobs
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial construction field experience
  • Prior experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
  • Experience with commercial interiors, tenant improvements, renovations, or occupied-space construction strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, safety, quality control, and subcontractor management
  • Knowledge of commercial MEP systems and high-end finish coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software, and other construction technology preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage fast‑paced projects with demanding schedules and multiple stakeholders
  • Professional and relationship-focused approach when working with clients, architects, and building management
  • Willingness to work occasional nights or weekends when shutdowns, occupied-space requirements, or project schedules
