Typical Work May IncludeDepending on the project and role, future work may involve:
- Supporting civil, underground, dry utility, electrical infrastructure, and site development scopes
- Excavation, trenching, grading, backfill, compaction, and site preparation
- Assisting with duct banks, utility corridors, concrete encasement, grounding, and underground electrical support
- Operating heavy equipment safely and productively
- Performing daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Supporting layout, grade control, spotting, rigging, material movement, and housekeeping
- Working around trenches, excavations, heavy equipment, lifts, and active electrical construction areas
- Following safety procedures for excavation, confined spaces, traffic control, utility awareness, and equipment operation
- Coordinating closely with foremen, operators, electricians, survey/layout teams, and project supervision
Strong candidates may have experience with:
- Excavation, trenching, grading, backfill, and compaction
- Underground utilities or dry utility installation
- Civil work supporting electrical or data center construction
- Equipment operation in active construction environments
- Reading grade stakes, drawings, utility plans, or basic civil layouts
- Working safely around underground utilities and energized work areas
- Spotting equipment and maintaining safe work zones
- Trench safety, excavation awareness, traffic control, and site housekeeping
- OSHA, competent person awareness, or equipment-specific training
- OSHA
10 minimum required for all on-site roles; OSHA
30 required for field leadership roles - Previous civil construction, utility, equipment operation, or general construction experience preferred
- Ability to work safely in outdoor and physically demanding environments
- Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, kneel, shovel, rake, and perform manual labor as needed
- Reliable transportation to assigned project locations
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules when project needs require
- Ability to pass required pre-employment and site-specific requirements
- Valid driver’s license preferred; CDL may be required or preferred for some roles
