Position Overview

The Safety Coordinator will assist in implementing and maintaining Beckett Electrical Services 's safety programs and policies. This individual will work closely with HR, management, field leadership, project teams, and customers to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E standards, company policies, and client safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Program Management: Conduct routine job site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E requirements, company policies, and customer safety requirements.
  • Safety Documentation & Planning: Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for electrical work. Complete and maintain safety documentation, reports, compliance records, and assist with pre-task planning and hazard mitigation efforts.
  • Training & Development: Assist with new hire safety orientations, ongoing field safety training, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and field coaching sessions. Train employees on CPR/First Aid, fall protection, scaffolding, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP), and other industry-specific safety topics.
  • Drug & Compliance Programs: Coordinate and administer drug screening programs, including pre-employment, post-incident, reasonable suspicion, and random testing. Coordinate with third-party facilities and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Incident Investigation & Response: Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, recommend corrective actions, and support emergency response planning and incident management.
  • Field Safety Oversight: Monitor PPE compliance, fall protection, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safe work practices. Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and foremen to address safety concerns and improve safety performance.
  • Travel: Travel to multiple local project sites as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience in commercial construction safety required.
  • Electrical Safety Knowledge: Working knowledge of electrical safety requirements, OSHA standards, and construction safety regulations.
  • Training

    Experience:

    Experience conducting safety training and field coaching.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30, OSHA 510, and NFPA 70E certifications required.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Other: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to work independently and in an amenable environment.
  • Pre-hire and random drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry

    Experience:

    Commercial electrical construction experience.
  • Advanced

    Certifications:

    CHST, STS, CSP, or other recognized safety certifications.
  • Licensing: Current TDLR Electrical License.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
  • Project

    Experience:

    Experience supporting large commercial construction projects.
