Position OverviewA well-established commercial General Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Superintendent to join its Austin, TX team. This is a senior-level field leadership position responsible for overseeing large and complex commercial construction projects while managing project financial performance, forecasting, field operations, and a medium-sized team.
Candidates must have previous experience managing large-scale healthcare and/or hospitality construction projects, along with demonstrated experience handling project financials, forecasting, and leading a medium-sized field team. These qualifications are mandatory.
The ideal candidate is a proven field leader who can operate at both the strategic and day-to-day levels — managing overall project execution while developing and holding the field team accountable for schedule, quality, safety, and financial performance.
Responsibilities- Lead overall field operations for large-scale commercial construction projects from mobilization through completion and closeout.
- Manage and mentor a medium-sized team of Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and other field personnel.
- Establish clear expectations for project execution, accountability, quality, safety, and schedule performance.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, sequencing plans, manpower plans, and site logistics strategies.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, architects, engineers, owners, and internal project teams.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify schedule risks, manpower requirements, procurement issues, and potential delays.
- Participate in project financial management, including forecasting, cost tracking, labor projections, and identifying potential cost impacts.
- Work closely with Project Managers and leadership to review financial performance and develop corrective strategies when necessary.
- Conduct regular jobsite meetings and provide leadership with accurate updates on project progress, schedule, manpower, quality, safety, and financial performance.
- Review construction documents, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings to identify constructability issues and coordination conflicts.
- Maintain high standards for jobsite safety, quality control, housekeeping, and documentation.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure work is completed in accordance with contract documents, schedule requirements, and quality standards.
- Lead project turnover, commissioning, punch list, and closeout activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- 10+ years of commercial construction field experience with progressive Superintendent responsibilities.

- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, logistics, quality control, and safety.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, materials, and project coordination.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
- Proficiency with construction scheduling and project management software preferred.
- Ability to work onsite in the Austin, TX market.
