Site Manager
About The Opportunity
If you are an elite construction leader working on high-stakes builds and ready to step up to lead multi-megawatt developments on the Developer side, this is your next move.
I have exclusively partnered with one of the fastest-growing, privately-backed data center developers across the US. They are aggressively scaling, entirely unbothered by market slowdowns, and have an immediate ~85 MW pipeline cooking right now across Central Texas, with more hyperscale sites in the queue.
In this role, you will lead owner-side delivery of a 60 MW phased mission-critical campus, owning daily field execution, managing the GC to the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), and holding full accountability for site safety, quality, budget, schedule, and L1–L5 commissioning.
- Location: Onsite - Austin
- Compensation: $190,000 - $220,000 Base comp + 30% bonus
About the Role
As the Senior Construction Manager, you will serve as the organization's primary on-site representative and owner-side leader. Operating directly on active construction sites, you will manage general contractor performance to strictly enforce the GMP and critical path schedule, direct trade partners and site consultants, oversee heavy OFCI equipment life cycles, and supervise onsite project engineers to deliver high availability campus infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
- CM/GC & GMP Management: Drive daily onsite execution, strictly enforce the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and schedule, lead trade buyouts, and audit pay applications, lien releases, and potential change orders (PCOs).
- Cost, Schedule & Controls: Master the site budget and cash flow forecasts, audit Primavera P6 critical path progress, execute field recovery plans, and implement change-management protocols to eliminate delay claims.
- Site Leadership & Meetings: Chair weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) and Commissioning Readiness meetings, enforce a zero-incident safety program (OSHA/NFPA 70E/LOTO), and supervise the onsite Project Engineer.
- OFCI & Consultants: Direct the end-to-end lifecycle for long-lead equipment (MV switch gear, UPS, generators, chillers) from FAT to rigging, and manage site consultants to deconflict overlapping scopes.
- Commissioning & Turnover: Serve as the owner gating authority for L1–L5 commissioning and blackout failure testing under load, protect live operations during civil expansion, drive AHJ energization approvals, and execute facility turnover.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Track Record: Minimum of 4+ years leading ground-up data center or mission-critical facility delivery, with proven experience as an Owner Representative, Developer PM, or Lead CM on CMAR/GMP multi-megawatt builds.
- Educational Background: Ideally Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent practical industry experience).
- Technical & Software
Skills:
OSHA 30 required (PMP/CCM preferred). Deep technical proficiency in MV/HV distribution, UPS topologies, chillers, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, EPMS/BMS, L1–L5 commissioning, Procore/ACC, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.
This organisation is moving at serious speed and building the digital infrastructure powering the future.
