About This Role

A BESS Project Manager at Irby Construction Company is responsible for assisting with overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and controls, and providing technical direction while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The responsibilities for this role span a broad spectrum, covering all areas of project management, including project planning, contract administration, and cost, time, quality, and safety management.

The goal is to complete the project on time and within budget. Work locations will be in Austin, surrounding regions, and Georgia.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with overseeing the construction project from start to finish.
  • Play a key role in project planning, managing project budgets, and identifying resources needed.
  • Participate in all meetings, including pre‑construction, weekly customer, close‑out, and lessons learned meetings.
  • Ensure that construction activities move according to schedule. Work directly with PM/Superintendent/General Foreman to establish baseline schedules.
  • Develop daily work plans, make revisions as needed, and assemble any change requests.
  • Track project costs, billings, and schedules.
  • Evaluate cost versus profit.
  • Understand and facilitate all safety and compliance requirements and schedule necessary training prior to the start of the project. Oversee reporting and corrective action for safety incidents and ensure strict adherence to proper procedures.
  • Maintain proper administration for employee time tracking. Review for accuracy before submitting.
  • Maintain processes for tool allocation, inventory, and repairs.
  • Closely monitor and track all equipment usage, including rental, owned, and truck use.
What You'll Bring
  • Communicate effectively with the Superintendents responsible for completing various phases of the project.
  • Electrical background preferred.
  • Primavera P6 experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Reliable, customer‑oriented, and willing to be part of a construction team.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems and conflicts.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide leadership in the execution of complex construction projects and organize a team effort.
  • Ability to delegate and manage multiple operations effectively.
  • Ability to assess the operational effectiveness of contractors.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical materials accurately and effectively.
  • Effective in making objective decisions.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills.
  • Effective time management and logical decision‑making ability.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across construction sites.
