As a Field Engineer, you will support the Superintendent and Project Manager in managing the day‑to‑day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will serve as the bridge between engineering plans and on‑site execution, assisting in coordination, quality assurance, and compliance with safety regulations.
This role involves frequent travel to project sites, covering residential, commercial, governmental, and agricultural projects any type of construction project Nexis Builds undertakes. Key Responsibilities Project Oversight & Coordination- Support the Superintendent and Project Manager in supervising on‑site construction activities.
- Ensure projects adhere to schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Monitor project progress, identify issues, and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Assist in conducting safety inspections and organizing safety meetings.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and risk mitigation on job sites.
- Assist in the logistics and management of project materials.
- Track material orders, delivery schedules, and usage to prevent delays.
- Verify delivered materials against purchase orders and inventory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and forecast material needs.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Assist in the review and approval of shop drawings and submittals.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and daily field reports.
- Work with project teams to resolve technical challenges on‑site.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with project teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Address client concerns and ensure their requirements are met.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 1‑3 years of field experience in construction (internships or co‑ops considered).
- Familiarity with construction methodologies, materials, and processes.
Skills:
- Proficiency in construction software (AutoCAD, Procore, Primavera, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Adaptability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
