Content Manager, FloHockey

Flo Sports is a world-class sports media company strategically positioned to be the essential destination for passionate sports fans, delighting them with live event coverage, breaking news, highlights, stats, rankings, and team and player profiles. Flo Sports is creating the home for college conferences/leagues and sports like grappling, hockey, track & field, racing, cheer, wrestling, and more, and we are looking for innovative and passionate people like you to help us!

Flo Sports is looking for a Content Manager to lead the creative and editorial direction of our Flo Hockey vertical. This role is equal parts content strategist, people manager and hockey storyteller.

You’ll own the day-to-day output of Flo Hockey’s written, video and social content while mentoring and managing a team of hockey content creators. You should know what hockey fans care about before the puck drops, understand how content performs across platforms (especially social) and know how to turn live events into must-watch, must-share moments.

• Own the creative and editorial strategy for Flo Hockey across social, video and written platforms

• Lead and manage a team of hockey content creators

• Build content plans around major events, leagues and moments (professional, juniors, pro prospects, international hockey)

• Drive social-first content creation with a strong emphasis on short-form video, real-time storytelling and social monetization

• Track content performance and translate analytics into actionable insights for your team

• Assign coverage, manage workloads, and ensure deadlines are consistently met

• Hire, onboard and manage freelancers and contributors as needed

• Collaborate with marketing, growth, product, rights and sales teams to support company initiatives

• Ensure all content aligns with Flo Sports brand standards, voice and editorial guidelines

• Edit content for clarity, accuracy, tone and quality

• Act as a player-coach, creating and posting content as needed

• Deep knowledge of hockey culture, leagues and storylines

• Experience managing content creators in digital or sports media

• Strong background in social media content strategy, especially video and monetization

• Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail

• Experience using analytics to inform content decisions

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live-events-driven environment

• Highly organized, proactive and accountable
