About the Role
We are looking for a technically sharp, highly motivated Video Production Specialist to own the day‑to‑day physical and technical execution of our video shoots. The role requires a hands‑on technical expert with deep familiarity of camera systems, lighting, and studio signal flow. It is a 3–6 month contract requiring approximately 15 hours per week onsite.
What You’ll Do- Act as the primary technical operator during high-priority studio recordings, ensuring consistency in multi‑camera composition, framing, and lighting.
- Record, monitor, and live‑mix audio levels throughout the shoot to guarantee broadcast‑quality sound.
- Monitor studio systems, diagnose and resolve technical glitches on the fly, and make independent judgment calls to keep sessions moving forward.
- Oversee readiness across four filming spaces, coordinating staging, tear‑down, and configuration of shared camera, lighting, and audio gear.
- Configure and operate professional digital cinema cameras, managing advanced settings to maintain visual consistency.
- Design, adjust, and modify lighting setups for various sets using grid‑mounted and floor‑standing fixtures.
- Maintain clean cable routing, power management, and basic livestream setups.
- Monitor the health, maintenance, and inventory of shared studio gear.
- 2–4 years of professional experience as a videographer, studio technician, or in a fast‑paced video production environment.
- Deep understanding of professional camera systems such as Sony Alpha/Cinema lines, Blackmagic Design, or similar.
- Experience monitoring and live‑mixing audio levels during active productions.
- Ability to shape light, use modifiers, and quickly adapt lighting setups to different physical environments.
- Exceptional technical troubleshooting skills under tight production timelines.
- Physical stamina to handle gear deployment, including lifting heavy equipment and managing complex cable routing.
- Experience with live broadcast environments, digital audio networking, or hardware switchers such as Blackmagic ATEM systems.
- Familiarity with optimizing studio setups for future broadcast or livestream scalability.
