Under the general direction of the Digital Communication Manager, Videographer performs senior, highly advanced multimedia content production to build the DSHS brand and increase public and stakeholder knowledge and awareness of public health issues. Establishes creative direction, production quality standards, and operating and production procedures for multimedia content.
Produces high-quality photography and video for agency’s internal/external communications and public relations efforts. Researches and prepares information to design multimedia materials related to the goals and priorities of the agency.
Work involves effective writing, videography/photography, editing, and production for distribution on social media and/or digital media.
Possesses strategic thinking, excellent interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and exceptional writing and content and video development skills.
The position works under general direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. As part of agency emergency response, this role may be required to work extended or alternate hours during a public health emergency.
Essential Job Functions(40%)
Executes video and photo production projects through planning and development of communication strategies, creative direction, and written content photography for internal and external audiences for projects such as communication campaigns, social media, and public health disaster response efforts.
This position takes high quality photos and/or videos of DSHS activities and/or selects stock photo imagery related to published communications. This position meets biweekly with Comms, Media Relations, and Government Affairs to create strategic plans for production and distribution of multimedia content for both internal and external audiences, including lawmakers.
This position oversees large-scale multimedia projects and campaigns, coordinating with external vendors, stakeholders, and/or agencies and maintaining timeline and deadlines for all deliverables using , Sharepoint, Basecamp, and additional software. In addition to external campaigns, this position provides consultation services to DSHS regional and program partners regarding video or photography for public health communication efforts. This role also serves as a creative and strategic consultant on statewide marketing campaigns with external vendors.
