SXSW Seasonal Merchandise Creative Coordinator
Job PurposeSXSW is seeking a Seasonal Merchandise Creative Coordinator to bring SXSW merchandise collections to life under the direction of the Sr. Merchandise Manager. This role is responsible for creating production-ready artwork, developing trend-forward products that enhance the attendee experience, and supporting creative storytelling across merchandise initiatives. The ideal candidate combines exceptional design skills with a passion for retail, branding, and consumer products.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design original graphics, illustrations, typography, and artwork for apparel, accessories, and other retail merchandise
- Develop creative concepts for merchandise collections based on creative briefs and direction
- Prepare production-ready artwork, technical files, and print specifications for manufacturing partners
- Create supporting retail marketing assets including product mockups, signage, digital graphics, social media assets, email graphics, and promotional materials
- Research fashion, graphic design, and cultural trends to inspire new merchandise concepts
- Coordinate revisions with vendors and internal stakeholders to meet production requirements and brand standards
- Organize and maintain digital creative files, artwork libraries, and version control throughout the development lifecycle
Qualifications include:
- Experience designing graphics for apparel, merchandise, consumer products, or retail brands; portfolio required
- An eye for design and interest in fashion or event merchandise
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, branding, and current design trends
- Strong communication skills and the ability to receive creative direction while contributing original ideas
- Experience working with vendors, printers, or pro
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift to 15 pounds occasionally, as needed.
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
- May require occasional bending, reaching, kneeling, or climbing stairs.
- Ability to work outdoors, including exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.

Work Location & ScheduleThe position is full-time and located in our Austin, Texas office. Core business office hours are from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. This seasonal role is active until mid-December.
