About the role

We're looking for a talented Product Designer to join our growing team in Austin, Texas. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and research to help build an AI-powered product that is transforming how clinical trials are run. You will have access to mentorship and guidance from a seasoned team.

You'll have a high level of ownership and autonomy, working within one of our product squads to take ideas from discovery through launch. You'll help turn complex problems into simple, intuitive experiences, iterate quickly based on feedback, and contribute to the evolution of our product and design practices.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced biotech AI startup at an early stage of its growth, as we continue expanding our US presence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own design projects from discovery and exploration through launch
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and UX researchers to define problems, requirements, and solutions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Claude Design and/or Figma and other design tools
  • Translate complex workflows and technical concepts into simple, intuitive user experiences
  • Conduct and incorporate user research, usability testing, and feedback into design decisions
  • Present design concepts and decisions to your squad and wider team, and actively seek feedback
  • Iterate rapidly on designs based on user feedback, testing, and product insights
  • Contribute to and help evolve our design system and product patterns
  • Champion user-centered, accessible, and inclusive design throughout the product development process
  • Help shape the product experience as we scale and introduce new AI-powered capabilities
Required Experience & Skills
  • 2-4 years of product design, UX, interaction, or similar design experience
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and confidence working quickly from idea to prototype
  • Experience designing digital products and working through the full product design process
  • Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful problem-solving, product thinking, and design craft (please share a link)
  • Some experience with user research, usability testing, or incorporating research into design decisions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate design rational
  • Comfortable working closely with product and engineering teams
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make progress in an ambiguous environment
  • Genuine interest in AI and its potential to transform complex workflows
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience designing AI/LLM-powered products
  • Experience working in healthcare, biotech, life sciences, or other complex domains
  • Experience with design systems or component libraries
  • Prototyping experience with tools such as Claude Design, Figma Make, or similar AI-powered design tools
  • Familiarity with accessibility principles and inclusive design practices
  • Experience working in an early-stage startup or fast-growing product team
