YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ's Office of the Executive Director, you would contribute to video communication initiatives for TCEQ and its Take Care of Texas program. See details about what we do. This position is a member of our External Relations Division.

Here's What You'll Be Doing
  • Produce professional-quality video content for internal and external audiences, including direction of staff, crew, and non-professional talent, as well as videography, lighting, audio capture, and production assistance.
  • Produce, shoot, and edit video projects, including researching, planning, scripting, capturing high-quality video and audio, and graphics creation. Productions include documentary-style storytelling, social media creation, and public-facing instructional videos.
  • Provide photographic services using DSLR cameras to document events both on and off the TCEQ main campus.
  • Research and collaborate with the creative team and agency leaders and their programs to develop targeted content and messaging for a variety of channels and audiences.
  • Serve as the agency's point-of-contact for accepting and processing staff You Tube requests.
  • Assist with the recording and publishing of high-quality live meetings & webinars for both agency staff and public audiences.
Key Qualifications
  • Experience with video production, including field and studio videography.
  • Experience with video post-production, including editing, and current video distribution methods.
  • Experience with writing scripts and narration that contribute to visual storytelling.
  • Experience creating visual productions that contribute to the communications and outreach strategy of an agency, corporation, or foundation.

Portfolio Pieces Should Include
  • Two or more examples of your social media videos intended for You Tube, Facebook, X, Linked In, or similar, and be corporate, promotional, and/or informative in nature.
  • Two or more examples of motion graphics you have created incorporating text, such as motion graphics used in social media, title sequences, and/or infographics.
  • Three or more examples showcasing your videography and lighting skills. Examples should be lifted from finished productions, without additional edits or modifications. Consider examples that include interiors, exteriors, and on-camera interviews. Do not provide a highlight reel of individual shots or drone footage. Minimum run time of these 3+ examples: 2 minutes each.
  • Two or more video examples, demonstrating your non-fiction writing, as part of a video's narration or on-camera delivery. Minimum run time of these 2+ examples: 2 minutes each.
  • Three or more examples highlighting your comprehensive video production skills. Examples should demonstrate your ability to generate engaging content from start to finish. Examples are to be lifted from finished productions, without additional edits or modifications. Minimum run time of these 3+ examples: 2 minutes each.
Required Education & Experience

Four (4) years of full-time experience in video production, including coordinating, scheduling, and managing productions.

  • Must obtain a Remote Pilot Certification for Unmanned Aircraft Systems within six months of hire date and complete recurrent training every 24 months to maintain certificate (facilitated through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.)
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Production, Journalism, or related discipline, plus 4 years of full-time experience in video production, including coordinating, scheduling, and managing productions or combination of both.
