Story Artist; Talent Pool

Nehslo Animation Studios is building a vetted Freelance Story Artist Pool for upcoming animated and mixed-media productions. This pool will serve as a curated network of story artists eligible for project-based engagement across short-form content, episodic series, and development work.

As a Freelance Story Artist, you will translate scripts and story outlines into clear, expressive, and emotionally driven boards that guide production. You'll work closely with Directors and Producers to establish pacing, performance, and visual storytelling before a single frame is animated.

• Boarding sequences from script or beat outline
• Pitching and revising boards based on director and producer feedback
• Communicating acting, staging, and camera choices clearly through thumbnail and rough board passes
• Collaborating with layout and animation teams to ensure board intent is carried through production

• Proven storyboarding experience in animation, film, or mixed-media production
• Strong understanding of cinematic staging, acting, and visual storytelling
• Ability to work quickly and iterate based on creative feedback
• Clear and effective communication in remote, cross-departmental environments
• A portfolio demonstrating sequential storytelling and character performance

• Experience in broadcast, streaming, or short-form content pipelines
• Familiarity with Storyboard Pro or equivalent boarding tools
• Comfort working in values-driven or family-friendly narratives
• Experience pitching boards verbally or via recorded presentation
