Role Description

The Registered Dental Hygienist is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for providing thorough preventive dental care, including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and the application of fluoride and sealants. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive oral health assessments, reviewing medical histories, taking and interpreting digital radiographs, and documenting findings in the patient record.

The hygienist educates patients on oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and disease prevention, while supporting the dental team during exams and treatments as needed. The position also involves adherence to strict infection control protocols, maintaining equipment and operatory cleanliness, and contributing to a positive, patient‑centered practice environment.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in dental hygiene and preventive dental care, including routine cleanings and periodontal therapies.
  • Strong clinical skills in dentistry and dental care, with the ability to collaborate effectively with dentists and other team members.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
  • Experience applying sealants and topical fluoride as part of comprehensive preventive treatment plans.
  • Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of Texas and current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Comfort working with digital X‑rays, intraoral cameras, and electronic health records; willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills, with a calm, empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced clinical setting, with strong attention to detail and reliability.
