Derby Dental is a warm, patient-focused general practice in the Far West / Northwest Hills area of Austin, looking for an experienced Front Office team member to join our team. Led by Dr. Erika Whitehouse and Dr. Meghan Kilkelly, known for a welcoming, anxiety-free experience, the kind of place patients describe as feeling like family.
This is a great fit for an experienced coordinator who understands that the front desk is the first and last impression of the practice.
The role: You'll be the welcoming face of our office and the engine behind a smooth-running front desk; managing insurance, treatment plans, and patient financials with accuracy and warmth while creating an exceptional experience from check-in to checkout.
What you'll do:
- Verify PPO and Medicaid insurance with breakdowns
- Enter insurance frequencies
- Generate and present treatment plans
- Handle financial planning, including in-house and Care Credit
- Read EOBs and send PPO claims
- Maintain the reception area and welcome patients
- Make confirmation calls
- Generate and call recall lists
- Scan documents and apply knowledge of ADA codes
- Coordinate specialty referrals
Schedule:
- Monday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
- Tuesday 7:00 AM-2:00 PM
- Thursday 7:00 AM-2:00 PM
- Friday-Sunday off
What we're looking for:
- 1+ years of dental front office experience
- Confident with PPO/Medicaid verification and treatment plan presentation
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and accountable
- Upbeat, warm, and personable; someone patients remember
- An excellent communicator in person, on the phone, and over text/email
- Organized and adaptable, with a problem-solver's mindset
Preferred:
- RDA background or comfortability supporting the hygiene department is a strong plus
