Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are a fashion-lifestyle brand of big dreams, colorful confidence, and inspired design. Founded on Family, Fashion and Philanthropy, we believe that our employees and customers are the heart and soul of our brand, and that giving back is the truest form of success. Fashion meets innovation in the design of our two state-of-the-art facilities based in the heart of Austin, Texas, and overflows into the design of our growing retail environment across the country.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Designer to join our Store Design team. This hands‑on leadership role is for someone who loves creating retail spaces that feel innovative, thoughtful, and approachable while reflecting the Kendra Scott brand and identity. You will work with the Director of Store Design and a team of designers to oversee the overall design vision, translating experiential retail elements into the internal team’s concepts and construction documents.

You will lead the architectural design and delivery of Kendra Scott retail environments across our portfolio, including full‑format flagship stores, core retail locations, and shop‑in‑shop placements with national department store partners. You will report to the Director of Design and work closely with Real Estate, Construction, Visual Merchandising, and Brand teams to create a unique retail experience that reflects the Kendra Scott brand.

You appreciate a team environment and welcome the opportunity to lead others, providing mentorship and consistent oversight to the store design team, maintaining the design vision while considering durability, sustainability, budget, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design Leadership
  • Lead architectural design across all retail format types, from schematic design through construction documentation and close‑out.
  • Experience reviewing architectural standards, prototypical drawing sets, and design guidelines.
  • Review architectural drawings, fixture plans, and technical details aligned to luxury retail standards.
  • Coordinate with MEP engineers, general contractors, landlord teams, and fabricators to ensure project feasibility and design fidelity.
Retail Environment & Brand Integration
  • Translate Kendra Scott brand identity and customer experience objectives into spatial and architectural solutions.
  • Ensure store circulation, adjacencies, fixture placement, and material selections support the intended guest journey and operational efficiency.
  • Advise on materials, finishes, lighting, and sustainable practices consistent with brand standards and project budgets.
  • Partner with the Visual Merchandising and Store Operations teams to align design intent with operational realities.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Act as the primary liaison between the conceptual design team and technical consultants to ensure alignment between vision and execution.
Qualifications

Required

  • 4+ years of professional experience in architecture, interior architecture, interior design or equivalent, with a minimum of 4‑6 years focused on retail or commercial environments.
  • Strong proficiency in architectural documentation, detailing, and construction administration.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior design staff.
  • Ability to merge creative design with constructability and operational efficiency.
  • Strong leadership in architectural documentation, detailing, and coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts and technical solutions to cross‑functional stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Architectural licensure (AIA, NCARB or state equivalent) preferred but not required.
  • LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainability expertise.
  • Experience with luxury or premium retail brands.
  • Familiarity with permitting and building code, and ADA standards.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
