We are looking for a technically skilled, design-driven Senior Architect to join their Commercial team in Austin, TX. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of complex projects and contribute meaningfully to a studio that values both craft and community.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate all project efforts through every phase of design and development to ensure efficient, cost-effective execution for complex projects.
- Present technical and design solutions directly to clients and represent the firm with professionalism and confidence.
- Guide and oversee Schematic Design, design development, and construction documentation, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, and project documentation to keep projects on track and well organized.
- Supervise and support the team's design and technical delivery, providing clear direction and quality oversight.
- Develop and advocate for the lead technical approach on projects, coordinating with project managers, architects, and consultants on appropriate solutions and product strategies.
- Deliver complete, accurate, and well-coordinated project documents that meet quality standards with minimal comments during review.
- Mentor architectural staff, fostering technical growth, design rigor, and collaborative teamwork.
What You'll Bring
- Significant experience developing details and providing technical and design support for commercial projects through Design Development and beyond.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and a clear understanding of how code constraints impact design decisions.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- A self-motivated, proactive work style and the ability to build positive working relationships with internal teams, outside consultants, and clients.
- Proven ability to lead and positively direct architectural staff.
- Strong proficiency with Sketch Up, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
Qualifications
- Licensed and registered Architect in the state of Texas.
- 8+ years of professional architectural experience.
- Deep familiarity with IBC and Texas amendments, Type V construction, accessibility requirements, and occupancies A, B, and M.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth.
- Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without restrictions (visa sponsorship is not available for this position).
