Senior Project Manager

Location:

Austin, TX

Let’s Do This… You’re a proven architectural leader several years into your career and are looking for a more challenging and strategic market-level opportunity. You’ve proven you can return results and want the chance to play a key influential role across capable teams. You’re dedicated to delivering projects on time and budget. You have a lot to teach and are looking for a group excited to learn.

You’ve come to the right place; we can make that happen.

What It Is… Our Industrial studio in Austin, TX is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to take on full responsibility for project profitability, schedule, and budget. We need a well-rounded, strategic thinker with a keen ability to manage client interactions and expectations, to oversee the projection of workload and flow and all consultant coordination, and to provide critical problem-solving for both the technical and design facets of each project.

In short, we want a Senior Project Manager as remarkable as we are. We want someone who understands how to plan a project and is excited about making their clients happy and better. We need a seasoned PM who wants to strategically grow a market, who looks around the corner and can see problems coming before they arise. We want a PM who attacks each new challenge with the knowledge that last week’s answer doesn’t fit this week’s question ---- a true, influential leader who is always seeking to learn more and apply what they’ve learned to make those around them better.

This is exactly the stuff that gets to the heart of our legacy. Built on hard work and pure passion, we have a 40+ year history of delivering award-winning commercial architecture and interior design. We’re building on that for the future, too.

What You’ll Do… The only thing routine about us is that we are constantly unleashing innovation. Our routine is that there is no routine. On any given day you may (among other things)…

  • Serve as the primary client liaison responsible to complete projects to satisfy the client’s goals.
  • Collaborate on ideas for industrial architectural amenities to help us stand out.
  • Manage work plans, schedules, programs, communication, and project team assignments.
  • Estimates fees, determine scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts.
  • Assist staff in development of industry knowledge and architectural skills.
  • Issue and record Change of Service Agreements in a timely manner.
  • Research, establish and adhere to city/county agency requirements.
  • Maintain continuous flow of critical information.
  • Oversee and assure contract document submittals for agency review.
  • Direct the preparation and issuance of bid documents.
  • Oversee construction contract administration and attend construction meetings as needed.

What You Need To Have…

  • Registered Architect (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school.
  • 12+ years of professional experience, inclusive of at least 5 years of project management experience with industrial buildings.
  • Working knowledge of REVIT.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles/practices.
  • Experience leading complex projects and multi project accounts.
  • Strong business development and client development acumen.
  • Experience mentoring architects and designers.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal management skills.
  • Commitment to a collaborative design process.
  • Experience negotiating project scope and fees.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and standards.

What We Expect… After 40 years, we know ourselves pretty well; we know what we expect and what lets people thrive. We value people who are:

  • Interesting – We want people that can provide unique insight into our problems and contribute to their solutions in unexpected ways.
  • Great communicators – if you can’t spread your message, you can’t deliver results.
  • Self-starters – We want people who don’t wait for direction; they find the next task and get started.
  • Ready learners – We want people who are excited to add another tool to their repertoire.
  • Adaptable – We look for people who find the right context and right solution for the task at hand.
  • Tech savvy – While you won’t be in Revit very often, we think it’s helpful for our PMs to know the program.
