Product Designer
Dealerware transforms the automotive retailers of today into the mobility network of tomorrow. Launched in 2016, Dealerware manages tens of thousands of vehicles at dealerships in North America across every major manufacturer brand. Dealerware is committed to being a people-first culture and a great place to work for all, with flexible scheduling, unlimited PTO, extensive benefits, and a leadership team that defaults to being supportive and accessible.
Dealerware was recently backed by growth investors Wavecrest Growth Partners and Radian Capital and is entering an accelerated phase of growth and product expansion. In 2026, Dealerware was recognized by Built In as one of their Best Startups to Work for in Austin for the fifth consecutive year.
Digital experience is the connective tissue of Dealerware’s platform. Thousands of dealership employees run their day on our platform, handling rental, loaner, test-drive, and pickup-and-delivery contracting in one place. Every high-stakes moment lives in that experience: scanning a DL or CC, validating insurance, contactless contracting, or capturing vehicle damage. Our job is to make each one intuitive, secure, modern, and compliant, whether it happens at the service drive or in a customer's driveway.
As our Sr. Product Designer, you own that experience. You turn dense automotive workflows into clean, human-centered design that drives revenue, lifts utilization, strengthens compliance, and earns customer trust. This is a high-autonomy individual contributor role with visibility across the company. You shape platform direction, set our design standards, and define the long-term vision for how Dealerware looks and feels.
You are the design team, supporting our team of product managers across mobile, tablet, and web, and your mandate is to raise both the velocity and the quality of our design. You do more than ship screens. You establish how we work: championing AI-first tools, building a rapid prototyping engine, and maintaining a strong design system so PMs can explore ideas and validate them with customers before engineers write a line of production code.
This role reports directly to the Sr. Director, Product Management.
- Turn high-level product briefs into interactive prototypes in hours, not weeks, using AI-first tools like Claude, Cursor, and Figma AI.
- Generate near-production component variants with AI coding assistants, then hand off specs engineers can build from immediately.
- Track emerging AI tools for research, prototyping, and design, and bring what works back to the team.
- Own and evolve the Dealerware design system as the product grows.
- Maintain, scale, and automate the Figma component library, with clean translation from UI variables to production tokens.
- Keep every surface consistent across mobile, tablet, and web, using AI to speed up component creation and documentation.
- Lead end-to-end UX and UI for service lane and dealership guest workflows: vehicle check-in and check-out, mobile check-in, insurance verification, digital contracts, and fleet tracking.
- Design for the reality of the service drive: fast pace, spotty connectivity, and busy dealership floors.
- Turn complex automotive data such as fleet telemetry, tolls, insurance, messaging, and DMS records into workflows that feel simple.
- Bring craft to every surface: precision and visual polish matter, even at speed.
- Co-define success metrics with product managers for every feature before you design it.
- Run fast discovery: user interviews, usability tests, and prototype feedback loops, always with a bias toward velocity.
- Use AI to synthesize insights from support tickets, NPS surveys, dealer feedback, and session data.
- Validate design decisions with analytics and product data, and use them to surface new opportunities.
- Act as our internal AI design evangelist. Share prompts, run informal workshops, and show the company how AI-augmented workflows produce better software, faster.
- Empower PMs to prototype and explore independently with the…
