Product Designer
Biorce is a pioneering Healthtech company dedicated to revolutionizing drug development through the power of AI. We are passionate about accelerating medical advancements and improving patient outcomes. Our team comprises seasoned clinical research professionals, data scientists, and AI experts, working collaboratively to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world clinical needs. With an unwavering commitment to revolutionize healthcare, we envision a world where all patients benefit from accelerated and cost-effective access to treatments.
Biorce is poised to redefine the landscape of healthcare, shaping a future where innovation and accessibility converge for the betterment of humanity.
We're looking for a talented Product Designer to join our Sigma Team in Austin. You'll own design end to end, from conception to launch, on greenfield AI products used by clinical research professionals, sponsors and study teams. On Sigma, design happens inside the build, not upstream of it. You'll sit alongside the Product Owner and AI Engineers, move from problem to demoable product in weeks rather than quarters, and use AI tools to take your own ideas as far as a working prototype before engineering picks them up.
You'll conduct user research with technically sophisticated users, iterate rapidly, and help establish and evolve our design practices as the team grows. The products you design are used to make multi-million-dollar development decisions, by people who will immediately distrust anything that feels imprecise or oversimplified. Getting the craft right here has real consequences for patients.
The Sigma Team is Biorce's Tech Special Forces, an incubator tasked with building the most disruptive, highest-stakes AI products in the clinical trial space. This is not a team that iterates on existing products. Sigma builds from zero: defining the strategy, shipping under real speed and ambiguity, and treating every initiative as a new venture. Squads are small and cross-functional, a Product Owner, AI Engineers, an embedded Scientific Lead, and you as the designer in the room from day one, not brought in once the problem is already framed.
WhatWe're Looking For
- A self-starter who takes ownership of design decisions and can operate independently with minimal direction
- A relentless self-teacher, you've picked up new tools and domains repeatedly without a course or a manager telling you to
- A collaborative partner who enjoys working with product, engineering and leadership, who is comfortable with ambiguity, iterates quickly, and learns from feedback
- Someone who treats scientists and researchers as design collaborators, not just stakeholders to gather requirements from
- A designer who prioritizes accessibility and inclusive design as core principles
- Someone who cares about craft and attention to detail while balancing speed and pragmatism, and who can discard work without ego when the strategy changes
- Lead end-to-end design projects from research and discovery through shipping
- Design zero-to-one products with the Sigma squad, Product Owner, AI Engineers and the embedded Scientific Lead, starting from an ambiguous problem rather than a finished brief
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma and other design tools
- Build working prototypes with AI tools (Claude and equivalents) to pressure-test ideas quickly and hand engineering something real, not just a spec
- Work closely with our user research and design system team
- Collaborate with product owners and engineers to define requirements and scope
- Present design solutions to leadership and defend design decisions
- Contribute to and maintain design systems and patterns for consistency across products
- Iterate rapidly on designs based on feedback, testing, and analytics
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design principles throughout the design process
- 4-6 years of product, UX, or interaction design experience
- Strong expertise in Figma, you should be able to jump in and iterate rapidly
- Experience designing in a fast-shipping environment, where cycle time is measured in weeks rather than quarters
- Experience conducting user research: interviews, usability testing, qualitative analysis
- Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful problem-solving and design process (please share a link)
- Familiarity with AI/LLM products and use cases is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Claude, or willingness to quickly learn and master Claude's capabilities
- Understanding of accessibility principles (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
- Excellent communication skills: able to present designs, articulate rationale, and gather feedback effectively
- Prototyping skills in tools like Claude Design or Figma Make, with working prototypes you built yourself
- Experience taking a product from zero to one
- Design systems or component library experience
- Familiarity with design thinking methodologies
- Experience designing for technically…
