Studio Steinbomer Architecture + Interiors | Austin, Texas

Studio Steinbomer is an award-winning Austin architecture and interior design firm seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our growing studio.

We are a collaborative team of architects and interior designers who believe exceptional spaces begin with thoughtful design, strong relationships, and genuine curiosity. Our work spans commercial, civic, hospitality, institutional, preservation, adaptive reuse, and custom residential projects throughout Central Texas, giving our designers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of project types, clients, and scales.

We're looking for a designer who is passionate about creating meaningful interiors, enjoys solving complex design challenges, and is excited to continue growing professionally alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Whether you're designing a boutique hospitality space, collaborating on a municipal facility, selecting finishes for a workplace renovation, or helping shape a custom residence, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from concept through construction.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with architects, clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the design process
  • Develop space planning concepts and interior design solutions that are both thoughtful and functional
  • Prepare presentation materials, renderings, finish palettes, and client presentations
  • Assist in producing construction documents and specifications
  • Select and coordinate finishes, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, furnishings, and equipment
  • Participate in project meetings, consultant coordination, and client presentations
  • Review shop drawings and assist during construction administration
  • Continue developing project management skills while taking increasing ownership of project responsibilities
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program
  • 1–5 years of professional interior design experience (approximately 3 years is ideal)
  • Actively pursuing NCIDQ certification and professional licensure
  • Commercial and/or residential project experience
  • Working knowledge of construction documents and the architectural design process
  • Intermediate proficiency in Revit (required)
  • Intermediate to advanced rendering, visualization, and 3D modeling skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent verbal, written, graphic, and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of space planning and interior detailing
  • Knowledge of finish materials, lighting, plumbing fixtures, architectural hardware, furniture, and vendor coordination
  • Understanding of project management principles appropriate to your level of professional experience
  • Basic to intermediate construction administration experience, including site observations and shop drawing review
Bonus Points If You Have Experience With
  • Hospitality interior design
  • Furniture procurement
  • FF&E budgeting and cost estimating
Why Studio Steinbomer?

We are intentionally small enough that every team member has a meaningful voice in our projects and our culture, while large enough to offer an incredibly diverse body of work. Our studio environment encourages collaboration, creativity, mentorship, and professional growth. You'll work directly alongside experienced architects and interior designers, gaining exposure to every phase of the design process while building a portfolio that spans multiple project types.

We

offer:
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Health insurance
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Professional development and NCIDQ/licensure support

If you're looking for a place where you'll be trusted with real responsibility, encouraged to continue learning, and surrounded by people who genuinely enjoy designing together, we'd love to hear from you.
