Role Overview

Next Care Urgent Care is seeking a Texas-licensed Physician (MD or DO) to serve as a Supervising Physician supporting Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in our Temple and Marble Falls, Texas clinics.

This is a non-clinical, oversight-focused role. The Supervising Physician will not see patients, will not work clinic shifts, and will not function as a site medical director. The primary focus of this role is regulatory-compliant supervision, clinical mentorship, and quality oversight in alignment with Texas Medical Board requirements.

This position is ideal for experienced physicians seeking a flexible, remote-friendly leadership role without the demands of shift-based patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regulatory supervision for Physician Assistants as required by Texas regulations

  • Establish and maintain written supervision and delegation agreements

  • Be available for clinical consultation via phone or electronic communication during clinic operating hours

  • Conduct structured chart reviews and provide clinical feedback

  • Participate in quality assurance and compliance documentation

  • Support prescribing oversight and adherence to established clinical protocols

  • Collaborate with medical leadership, credentialing, and operations teams as needed

Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical program

  • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license

  • Active DEA registration

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred

  • Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of APP supervision requirements under Texas law

Position Details
  • Schedule: Flexible, part-time

  • Setting: Remote / Administrative (occasional site visits may be required for compliance or audits)

  • Patient Care: None required

  • Compensation: Competitive monthly stipend
