Ascension Seton Medical Group is looking for an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist for our Cardiology group.

Ascension Seton is seeking an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join a growing and busy cardiovascular group at the only transplant center in Austin. The Advanced Heart Failure program at Ascension Seton provides a full spectrum of cardiovascular care including cardiac transplantation, LVAD, and ECMO support. Ascension Texas Cardiovascular offers comprehensive cardiac care to Austin and surrounding communities, representing all subspecialties of cardiology including interventional, structural, non-invasive (cardiac CT and MR), EP, peripheral vascular, and CHF/VAD/transplant.
The group practices primarily out of four hospitals in the Austin area, including the teaching hospital at the University of Texas Dell Seton Medical Center, and collaborates with UT Dell Medical School for medical student, resident, and fellow education. The advanced heart failure team works closely with cardiology fellows as they rotate in the CVICU and heart failure service. Ascension Texas Cardiovascular also actively participates in clinical research, with approximately 25-30 ongoing trials, providing opportunities to engage in research if interested.
- Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participate in academic programs (e.g., medical education and research) as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on-call schedules.
