The University of Texas Medical Branch seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Dermatology, to support patient care, resident education, and the department’s threefold mission of teaching, research, and clinical service.

This role offers an 80% clinical, 10% academic, and 10% administrative structure, with a predictable Monday-Friday schedule and opportunities to build a niche, add optional procedures, and participate in scholarly activity. Faculty practice across Galveston and League City clinical locations, including Victory Lakes Town Center, Stewart Road Clinic, and the main campus clinic. Candidates will join a collaborative, low-turnover department with strong faculty satisfaction, resident engagement, Epic, and ambient documentation support.

New hires currently start at $450,000, with a two-year guarantee, work relative value unit incentive structure after the guarantee period, $5,000 in annual continuing medical education support, quality incentive eligibility, and realistic earning potential above targets.

Opportunity Highlights Join a large, collaborative dermatology department with 12 faculty, 5 advanced practice providers, 19 residents, 3 fellows, and 35 total department members. Practice medical and surgical dermatology, with optional procedures and the ability to add cosmetic services if desired. Teach daily in clinic with assigned residents and participate in conferences, lectures, grand rounds, and learner supervision.
