Applications are being accepted for a full-time High School Art Teacher for the  school year. This role follows a standard 178-day teacher contract plus a $5000 Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) stipend and offers a competitive salary based on the district pay scale and years of experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, TRS retirement, and paid leave.

The High School Art Teacher will provide engaging visual arts instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Responsibilities include developing and delivering creative lesson plans, teaching a variety of artistic media such as drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art, and fostering a classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, self-expression, and respect. The teacher will assess and evaluate student progress, maintain accurate records, manage classroom behavior according to district and campus policies, and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success.

Participation in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and support of extracurricular art activities or exhibits will also be required.

Qualified candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and possess a valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Art (EC12 or appropriate level), along with knowledge of TEKS, curriculum planning, and classroom management. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching high school art, using differentiated instruction and project-based learning, integrating technology into art instruction, and demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
