Job Description & How to Apply Below

The University of Georgia School of Medicine located in Athens, GA, is seeking an experienced, innovative faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor who will serve as medical educators (MD, DO or equivalent) to teach across all four years of our undergraduate medical education curriculum in the areas of clinical skills, community and population health, simulation, and in large group learning and small group facilitation.

There may also be opportunities to serve in curriculum leadership roles and/or participate in clinical care in an outpatient setting. UGA Faculty Clinical Science and Basic Science Educators work in pairs within our unique curriculum to facilitate case-based small group student learning on a weekly basis.

Our students study clinical and basic sciences in a highly integrated, systems-based, hybrid curriculum that incorporates active learning strategies into large and small group settings. Clinical Science and Basic Science Educators work closely together in this setting to provide a unique learning experience for our students. We seek outstanding, team-oriented faculty members who will share our excitement in continuing to build this dynamic and innovative educational program.

The UGA Health Science campus offers unique opportunities for medical education research through collaboration with faculty across the University of Georgia, and other institutions. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment with the new UGA School of Medicine as well as an adjunct appointment with the Augusta University Medical College of Georgia. Our campus will continue to train AU medical students until approximately 2030 as the UGA SOM takes hold.

The position is a non-tenure track appointment at the rank of clinical assistant professor, clinical associate professor, or clinical professor commensurate with experience and credentials.
