What You Will Be Doing- Create and facilitate small‑group reading sessions for K‑2 learners, ensuring phonics instruction is interactive, enjoyable, and tailored to individual needs.
- Adjust teaching methods on the fly in response to student feedback, reading proficiency levels, and participation signals.
- Conduct motivational one‑on‑one conversations with students to support their progress in adaptive literacy platforms and meet learning milestones.
- Track student performance metrics from adaptive tools and apply findings to customize instruction for each reading cohort.
- Incorporate narrative techniques, humor, game‑based comparisons, and affirmative feedback to sustain student effort and address reluctance.
- Available to work on‑site at Next Gen Academy in Austin, TX.
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education, reading, or a related discipline.
- Certification in structured literacy methodologies including Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or comparable evidence‑based phonics frameworks.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience providing small‑group reading instruction to K‑2 students or learners facing reading challenges.
- Proven capacity to evaluate student reading proficiency and independently develop differentiated lesson plans.
- Genuine interest in video games and gaming culture, regardless of personal gaming experience.
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Working with usThis is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
