Position Summary
The Head of School of Logic (HSOL) provides visionary, Christ-centered leadership for Regents School of Austin's Logic School (grades 7-8). In alignment with Regents' mission, founding principles, and Board direction, the HSOL ensures an excellent classical, Christian educational experience that forms both the minds and hearts of young adolescents.
Job DescriptionAs a member of the Senior Staff, the HSOL partners closely with the Head of School and divisional leaders to advance the strategic goals of Regents. This role requires wise educational leadership, strong people leadership, and a collaborative spirit that fosters healthy interdependence among faculty, students, parents, and administrators. The HSOL serves not only the Regents community but also models faithful, effective leadership for other classical Christian schools.

- Regularly evaluate curriculum effectiveness and instructional delivery to ensure excellence.
- Apply sound pedagogical discernment to strengthen teaching and learning.
- Lead evaluation, coaching, and mentoring systems that support teacher growth and student success.
- Foster a faculty culture marked by collaboration, advocacy for each child, and high professional satisfaction.
- Build and sustain a strong talent pipeline through effective recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of teachers.
- Guide conversations around adolescent development and educational psychology as they relate to the Logic School.
- Partner wisely with parents and teachers regarding learning differences, within the parameters of Regents' educational philosophy.
- Lead the discipleship, management, and discipline of young adolescents while preserving each student's dignity.
- Oversee weekly student chapel, inspiring students to love God, serve others, and grow in Christlike character.
- Champion clear expectations for conduct, courtesy, respect for authority, and adherence to the Code of Citizenship.
- Cultivate a student culture marked by kindness, responsibility, and respect among peers and adults.
- Encourage meaningful connections between Logic School students and other divisions on the K-12 campus.
- Communicate clearly, graciously, and consistently with parents through written communication and public presentations.
- Channel parent involvement in ways that strengthen the school community and support student success.
- Demonstrate wisdom, collaboration, and pastoral sensitivity in parent relationships.
- Oversee student life operations outside the classroom, including arrival and dismissal, safety, lunch, recess, field trips, and events.
- Manage divisional budgets and financial forecasting in partnership with the Senior Staff team.
- Promote cohesion and alignment across all school divisions.
- Leverage technology to improve communication, reduce administrative burden, and increase effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with age-appropriateness standards, school policies, and relevant employment and education laws.
- Deep commitment to classical education and a Christian worldview.
- Genuine passion for young adolescents and confidence in God's work in their lives.
- High personal integrity, strong work ethic, and leadership by example.
- Initiative, ownership, and the ability to lead with limited oversight.
- Sound judgment, including the ability to identify and manage risk.
