The District Strategic Leadership Division builds the capacity of LEA board members to better drive student outcomes by building foundational mindsets (e.g., student outcomes orientation), knowledge (e.g., understanding state accountability systems, district systems, and board policy topics), and skills (e.g., data‑driven progress monitoring).
This is accomplished through the coordinated efforts across the District Strategic Leadership Supports division including the Superintendent and Board Development team, Texas Strategic Leadership team, Leadership Development Programming team, and the Office of Governance. The collaborative approach by these teams allows for a coalescence around the central tenet of supporting educational progress and improving student outcomes in Texas public schools.
The Lead for Board Development and Training will facilitate across internal agency teams to ensure aligned board‑related best practices are incorporated into their programs. This is a highly collaborative role, involving sharing content across internal agency leadership and external stakeholders for feedback as well as maintaining a pulse on the delivery and impact of board supports to continuously improve content and training with lessons learned from the field.
Additionally, this role is responsible for creating critical program training content and tools related to achieving critical milestones and outputs across board‑related initiatives as well as the training of trainers through direct facilitation and certification of board training individuals. The content and training development is inclusive of this individual building as well as managing any internal and external stakeholders also supporting the content development process.
This includes facilitating multiple rounds of feedback loops to get to final products and then utilizing insights from training and the field to continuously improve upon content, delivery, and strategy over time and across programmatic delivery methods.
