Purpose

The Distance Learning Specialist will assist the Distance Learning Coordinator with the day-to-day operations of classroom Lecture Capture and address any additional distance learning needs for the Cockrell School of Engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Schedules, programs, installs, and maintains lecture capture hardware and software, as well as delivers archived lectures to instructors and students.

  • Provides support to the Distance Learning Coordinator in evaluating new learning technologies for effectiveness and compliance with University of Texas policies.

  • Assists in the design and deployment of distance learning technologies across the Cockrell School of Engineering campus.

  • Performs other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and five years' professional experience in the field of radio, television or film program productions (OR)

  • Bachelor's degree and a year of professional experience in the field of radio, television or film program productions

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional experience in the field of radio, television or film program productions

  • Experience in AV Integration, Broadcasting, Education K-12/Higher ED, Instructional Design, and Higher ED Administration

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment

  • Repetitive use of keyboard at workstation

  • Soldering and Cable Termination

  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. over their head

  • Significant travel is required

  • Work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, is required
