Position Overview

Wholesome Generation is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Holistic Afternoon/12n-5p Enrichment Teacher to lead engaging extracurricular programs for middle school students (some higher‑level elementary students are sometimes woven into the lessons due to SEL and academic readiness). Our core group is 12‑14 students only.

Summary

This role is ideal for an educator who values whole‑child development and can design enriching, hands‑on experiences that support students’ social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Our ideal candidate will foster curiosity, encourage experimentation, and promote critical thinking through engaging, multidisciplinary projects that go beyond the traditional classroom curriculum. This includes planning and executing fun, inquiry‑based activities such as STEM, robotics, environmental science, engineering challenges, arts, entrepreneurship, and crafting.

Our campus is located on a 5‑acre space, with creek bed, therapy horses and gardens, and we would love to involve our students in co‑creating fun and inspiring learning stations that empower them to build on their skills and creative thinking. This position works collaboratively with our core academic teacher and reports to our Executive Director. We are building this position for a 20‑25 hrs/week and it could expand to full‑time in the near future.

Duties
  • Plan, design, and lead specialized after‑school enrichment programs across multiple disciplines (STEM, arts, entrepreneurship, crafting, etc.)
  • Facilitate hands‑on, inquiry‑based learning experiences that promote creativity, exploration, and problem‑solving
  • Collaborate with the morning academic teacher to ensure continuity in student support and development
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students of diverse backgrounds
  • Supervise students during program hours, ensuring their well‑being and active participation
  • Develop age‑appropriate, engaging lesson plans and interactive activities
  • Manage and maintain program materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence, collaboration, and curiosity
  • Enforce safety protocols and organizational policies at all times, working closely with parents for transitional notes and progress
Qualifications
  • Experience working with middle school‑aged children (one class of 12‑14 students) who are forward‑thinking, creative, and ready‑to‑go with a great attitude toward learning and growing
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for teaching a variety of subjects (STEM, science, arts, entrepreneurship, etc.)
  • Ability to design and lead engaging, student‑centered, hands‑on activities (e.g., building in our gardens, working with bees, woodwork, or creating art)
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
Preferred Qualities
  • Background in education, child development, science, or a related field
  • Experience with extracurricular or after‑school programming
  • Passion for holistic education, inquiry‑based learning, and youth development
  • Experience leading STEM or project‑based learning activities (e.g., robotics, engineering, science, building, wood‑working, gardening)
Work Environment
  • Afternoon hours (12noon lunch until around 5pm) in a dynamic, student‑centered setting
  • Collaborative and mission‑driven team culture
Benefits & Perks
  • Free dependent tuition/credit (full credit, not only discount) for child ages 2 years – middle school
  • Weekly chiropractic care (on‑site)
  • Freshly made daily lunches (served with our school lunches)
  • Supportive, collaborative team culture and environment
  • Positive, uplifting, and wellness‑focused work environment
  • Equine therapy available with our Equine specialist and sound by Lene (our Founder) as needed

We are building this position and it can easily turn into a full‑time employee role. For now, we are looking to hire the most creative and inspiring individual to co‑create for our students. We are starting with $20‑25/hr and can build from there, depending on experience and connection with our model and program.
